FOAM FILM CALIBRATION DEVICE
The KraussMaffei Berstorff calibration device is mounted on an electrically movable frame and essentially consists of the cooling mandrel, a slitting device, and an air cooling ring. The mandrel is cooled by a separate heat-balancing unit. To cool the inside of the film tube there is also an adjustable blower. The slitting device has a rotating knife driven by an electric motor.
Various mandrel diameters permit manufacturing of foam films with a width from 1 to 2 m.
To minimize downtimes, the calibration device also has a photoelectric barrier for tear-off monitoring.
PIPE HEADS
The four- or two-die pipe heads, specially developed for foam pipe systems, reduce the line speed at constant throughput. In addition, Die changes can be made without interrupting production, because the flow channels can be individually shut off or adjusted. Various pipe dimensions, profiles, and rods can consequently be extruded simultaneously.
